After breakfast, head to San Diego Naval Base and visit the retired USS Midway Aircraft Carrier. Then, tour Balboa Park, which dates back to 1835 and is one of the oldest public recreational parks in the U.S. It was also the site of the 1915 Panama–California Exposition. The city built many lavish museums in Spanish Colonial Revival style with Gothic, Baroque, and Rococo influences. Next, visit San Diego Old Town, located northwest of downtown. It is considered the birthplace of California and the earliest Spanish settlement in the region. Due to its proximity to Mexico, the town has a unique Mexican-American blend with strong historical charm. Return to Los Angeles after the tour.
